Family services

Loreto Sisters are involved in providing programs, accommodation and support to families facing serious illness, and families and individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness, domestic violence and other serious disadvantage.

“We did not plan any of this, or even foresee the possibilities, but just our care of them and the dignity they are shown, even in the most trying moments, translates into much more than safety at night."

Some of these programs include the Sisters’ Place, a night shelter for the temporary homeless women of Fremantle, Very Special Kids in Victoria, a service to families with terminally ill children, Strong Young Mums in Bourke NSW, a program for young single mothers. Many sisters are involved in volunteer work within parishes and communities as well as organisations such as St Vincent de Paul.
