We can all play our part, no matter how small or large, to help raise awareness about an issue, lobby for change and policy development and motivate others to take an interest in social justice issues. Here are just a few ideas on how you can get involved.

Find out more and share with others

• Find out more about the UN Millennium goals
• How are we tracking?
• Learn more about MWIA projects
• Do your own research about issues like Indigenous disadvantage, fair trade, human trafficking, refugee rights and climate change.
• Select social justice issues as topics for discussion and debating.
• Shop Fair Trade products were possible.

Write a letter to the PM or your local MP

Join up

• Establish or join a social justice network
• Set up or join a facebook page e.g. MWIA Volunteers, Mary Ward 400 years.
• Sign up to the Loreto Sisters UN mailing list
• Sign a pledge or start a petition (e.g. Sign the Oxfam Close the Gap Pledge)

Volunteer

Volunteering with MWIA provides an opportunity to gain a rich insight into the work of Loreto Sisters in Australia and abroad. Both long and short-term placements are fully self-funded and involve working with a specific project in a Loreto program in Australia or overseas. Placements vary depending on the need of each ministry or program.
