Our province

The work of the Loreto Sisters and Loreto Province Centre is supported by hundreds of individuals serving as volunteers on committees, boards, programs and reference groups; and making connections in many other ways.
The Loreto Sisters Australia Province Centre is located in Hawthorn, Victoria. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land, Aboriginal elders past and present, wherever we work.
A diverse group of dedicated staff and volunteers, including lay and religious, support the work of the province in:
- administration
- aged care
- archives
- communications
- development
- education
- finance and business
- history.
The Loreto Province Archives is located at Mary’s Mount in Ballarat.

Our values
Freedom, Justice, Integrity, Verity, Felicity.
Our circle of friends
Mary Ward had a company of friends who shared her vision, placed their trust in God and stood by her. In this tradition the Loreto Sisters work closely with a circle of friends to carry out their work - making Mary Ward’s vision a continuing, evolving and relevant journey.
“I thank God for our wonderful principals and teachers, the dedicated people who share their expertise on our committee and councils, our office staff, the donors and volunteers who support our development works, and at the heart of it, the sisters who form a nucleus to carry forward our vision and values.”
Christine Burke ibvm
