Our story

Anna Gaha ibvm with students at St Mary’s, Broome

We are a global network of women working with others to bring the gospel to life by promoting dignity, advocating for women and children, challenging unjust systems and educating for the future.

“With real strength and courage do what is seen to be good in all circumstances in which we are placed, not letting ourselves be deterred from this good by any opposition.”
Mary Ward

Our work is supported by a large network of friends and volunteers, supporting our mission and making connections in many ways.

400 years on, women continue to be captured by Mary Ward’s progressive vision. Today the two congregations who look to Mary Ward as founder are known as the Congregation of Jesus (CJ) and the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (IBVM Loreto).
