Daniel Groody, theologian, author and film maker, will draw on his many years experience of pastoral work along the US-Mexican border, and subsequent research and theological reflection on issues related to globalisation and immigration.

Sr Brigid Arthur csb will guide recent asylum seekers as they share their stories with us. David Manne will discuss the legal position of refugees and asylum seekers in Australia.

You're invited to an MWIA fundraising event at the National Gallery of Victoria 'Vienna: Art & Design'. Breakfast commences at 8.30am, followed by an introduction by Prof William M Johnston (essay author for the catalogue "Vienna: Art & Design:Klimt, Schiele, Hoffmann, Loos") and a private viewing of the collection.

The 25th Merrepen Arts Festival, a major cultural event for the region, will take place in the Daly River community of Nauiyu on 2 – 4 September, 2011. The Festival, at which Mary Ward International Australia volunteers will assist, features a special cultural performance and the famous Merrepen Art Sale and Auction.

A committee, comprising of Mary Ryllis Clark, Dr Claire Renkin, Sue Rennie, Liz Hepburn ibvm, Dorothy LeClair, Margery Clark and Angela Slattery ibvm have organised this one day workshop for those who want to develop their inner lives. Very much in line with the spirit of Mary Ward, it meets a contemporary and growing need for time out from a busy world for some conversations on the deeper issues of life.
