Our mission


To promote and support education, justice and development projects undertaken by Loreto Sisters and their colleagues in areas of need in Australia and internationally.

MWIA structure


MWIA is guided by Board of Directors and an Advisory Committee that assist the Executive Officer. MWIA is accountable to the IBVM Loreto Sisters Provincial Council and the Board of Directors of Mary Ward International Australia Ltd. The chair of this board is Mr Peter Black.

Mary Ward International Australia Ltd. is a Trustee Company that oversees the Mary Ward International Australian Foundation Trust and the Mary Ward International Australia Charitable Trust. The trustee company was established in 2006 to support and enable the funding of projects and works through MWIA.

Meet our new Executive Officer!


Felicity CostiganFelicity Costigan comes to the role of Executive Officer of Mary Ward International Australia with extensive experience in Not-For-Profit organisations most recently as Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Manager for Austin Health and The Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre.

Felicity also worked at the StVincent’s Hospital Foundation managing the Trusts and Foundations program and has a background of 15 years’ experience working in media as a journalist mainly for The Herald Sun. Most recently, Felicity worked with author Kaz Cooke as a researcher for her latest book, Women’s Stuff and also for the second edition of Kid Wrangling.

Felicity is a Director on the Board of St Mary’s House of Welcome, a homeless shelter in Brunswick Street, Fitzroy where she has been involved in governance and mission planning. She is married with two children.
